SANTA CRUZ — The City of Santa Cruz is scheduled to perform construction work on King Street from Bay Street to Mission Street the week of March 12. The work is expected to occur over one or two week days, from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.  As part of the 2017 Overlay Project, three speed bumps will be adjusted.

Traffic control will be in effect with flaggers guiding two-way traffic. The public is advised to seek alternate routes if possible as there will be delays and some parking will be impacted.

The construction schedule is predicated on clear weather; any changes will be posted on the City website at

The 2017 Overlay Project, funded by Measure H tax dollars, is rehabilitating local streets that have experienced significant deterioration. The entire project is expected to be completed this month.
